I’m Ryan Katz, a photographer based in the Washington, D.C. area with a passion for aviation and visual storytelling. I specialize in aviation photography and love capturing the power, speed, and detail of aircraft both in the air and on the ground.

Living near some of the region’s busiest airports, Washington Dulles International Airport, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, and Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport provides incredible opportunities to photograph a wide variety of aircraft and aviation activity. Air shows are another major inspiration for me, allowing me to combine my love for photography with the excitement and energy of flight.

In addition to aviation, train photography is quickly becoming another passion of mine as I continue exploring new subjects and ways to capture motion, detail, and transportation culture through my lens. Through my work, I aim to showcase the beauty, precision, and passion behind both aviation and rail photography while continuing to grow my experience and portfolio within the transportation photography community.
